Anti-spam feature is by-default enabled on Edge Transport servers and disabled on servers having Hub Transport role. The reason behind this configuration is that once messages enter in your organization, it is filtered by the Edge Transport server before they are routed into the Exchange organization. After Edge Transport
servers have filtered messages, it is sent to the mailbox and no need
to further filter those messages and so this feature is disabled on the
Hub Transport servers.
Sometimes, situation arises where company policies restrict you in using a separate Edge Transport server to filter messages. In this situation, we can enable Anti Spam feature on Hub Transport servers that receive messages from the Internet. We can enable or disable the Anti-spam feature on Hub Transport servers by using Set-TransportServer cmdlet.
How to enable Anti-spam feature on a Hub Transport server, named Exch01:-
Set-TransportServer -Identity 'Exch01' -AntispamAgentsEnabled $true
Restart the Microsoft Exchange Transport service after running the above command.
After restarting the service, open the Exchange Management Console, expand the Server Configuration and select the Hub Transport node and select the Antispam tab in the result pane to make the required configurations
